FAQ

Q: What can I use to clean my film?

A: It is recomended that you use a mild soap solution and a soft cloth or squeege. Vinegar and water works as well. Most window cleaning companies are familiar with cleaning window films. If you take this route, please notify the company that you have window film.

Q: What is Missouri law for auto tinting?

A: The law states you can go as dark as you wish on your back windows but are limited to 35% V.L.T. on your two front windows. You are also allowed to do a strip accross your front windsheild down to the AS1 line.

Q: I am being told that I have to go with a 45% film in order to stay legal in Missouri. I thought the law was 35%.

A: The law is 35% in Missouri for your two front doors but ALL glass has a tint to it usually around 70%. Applying a 45% film to your 70% glass will make the film on glass percentage around 36%. A 35% film would make your glass around a 26% which is not legal.

Q: Will window film darken my windows?

A: Films come in a wide variety of shades. There are films that are completely clear to films that are completely opaque. Depending
on your needs there is a film for you.

Q: Can window film be removed?

A: Yes. Window film can be removed without damaging your windows.

Q: Does window film stop fading?

A: No. Window film does not completely stop fading, but does DRAMATICALLY reduce fading. The only way to get close to completely stopping fade would be to lock whatever is fading in a light free, oxygen free, vaccum chamber, free from heat.

Q: Does window film block UV light?

A: Yes. Window films take out over 99.9% of UV.

Q: Does window film reduce heat gain?

A: Yes. Depending on the film you choose, you can take out up to 80% of the solar enegy coming through your windows.

Q: Does window film scratch?

A: It can. The films have a scratch resistant coating that is very strong. Normal cleaning should not effect this coating.Typicaly anything metal will probably scratch the film, although most other materials will not harm the film.

Q: My window film is scratched, can I buff it out?

A: Alot of the time deep scratches can not be removed. Very light scratches can be buffed with a plastic polish or mild/liquid car wax.
Most of the time if an object hits the film it will leave what appears to be a scratch, but usually rubs the material onto the film which
can be rubbed off.

Q: Will window film break my windows?

A: No. Window film has no direct link to glass breaking.

Q: Does window film void my window manufacturer
warranty?

A: In most cases, yes. This is why we offer warranties that cover the film, glass breakage, and seal failure. Premium warranties will match your window manufacturers warranty in most cases.

Q: Does window film help in the winter months?

A: Yes. Window film will help retain heat in your home during the winter months and help keep heat out in the summer months.

Q: Will window film take the glare off of my television or computer screen?

A: Only film that is completely opaque will help solve that problem. Films can help reduce this problem, but not enough to make it
worth while. It is recommended that blinds be installed or a little re-arranging of those components so that they are not facing windows.

Q: Will window film kill my plants?

A: No. In most cases it will actually help them from getting burnt from too much sun.

Q: Is commercial/residential window film like car tint?

A: No. It is a totally different product and has different properties.

Q: Will window film hold the glass toghther in case it breaks?

A: Yes. But it is not classified as a safety film.
